Quran Disposal Price in Singapore

Nobody enjoys asking about money. Especially not for something as sensitive as retiring a Quran. So we will simply tell you everything, including the two ways to pay less. This page lists our full rates with complete worked totals, so you know your exact bill before you book. ShredRite is a Muslim-owned Singapore service. We collect Islamic materials from your doorstep, islandwide, and micro-shred them at our own facility to the DIN 66399 P-5 standard, with Shariah-compliant handling from collection to destruction. Three ways to use ShredRite

The per-kg rate never changes. Only the booking fee does. Pick the route that suits you.

Our rates

Two per-kg rates cover everything, and they are the same on all three routes. There are no hidden charges, no fuel surcharges, and no extra cost for HDB walk-ups or lift landings.

The booking fee applies once per pickup, whatever the quantity. It covers our trip to your doorstep, anywhere in Singapore. The drop-off has no booking fee because you bring the items to the masjid yourself.

Softer paper items like khutbah notes, wedding and kenduri cards with Bismillah, and newspaper clippings with Quranic text all fall under books and papers. Frames and harder pieces take more handling, which is why that rate is slightly higher. Not sure where an item falls? What are codes ALEEM10 and KHALID10?

ALEEM10 is our partnership code with Masjid Abdul Aleem Siddique and KHALID10 is our partnership code with Masjid Khalid. Either one halves the doorstep booking fee from $20 to $10. Everything else about your collection stays exactly the same.

You do not need to worship at the masjid to use them. You do not need to be introduced by anyone. Just tell us the code when you book on WhatsApp and we will apply it. We publish it openly here because we would rather you pay $10 than $20 and never know the code existed.

Worked examples: your actual total

Most price lists stop at the per-kg rate and leave you doing sums at the kitchen table. Here are complete totals for all three routes, with the booking fee already included.

The working is always the same. Weight times rate, plus the booking fee for your route. A 10kg load of books is (10 x $5.50) = $55, then add $20, $10 or nothing depending on how you come to us. A mixed load of 8kg of books plus 2kg of frames is (8 x $5.50) + (2 x $7) = $58, then add your booking fee.

For a sense of scale, a filled shopping bag of books weighs roughly 5kg. A typical home clear-out of old madrasah workbooks, Yasin books and calendars usually lands between 5kg and 10kg. That puts most household collections between $37.50 and $65 with a partner masjid code, ALEEM10 or KHALID10.

Mixed loads are common and simple. We weigh your books and your frames separately on the same scale, apply each rate to its own weight, and add a single booking fee.

The cheapest route: drop-off at the masjid

If you can carry your materials down yourself, this is the least you will ever pay us, and the most the masjid ever receives.

Your materials are handled exactly the same way after that. They travel to our Tannery Lane facility and are micro-shredded to DIN 66399 P-5, the same as every doorstep collection.

The trade-off is honest. The drop-off happens once a month, on one afternoon, at one location. If you are clearing a late parent's flat, moving house next week, or holding twenty years of madrasah books that you cannot lift into a car, doorstep collection is worth the fee. If you have a bag or two and the last Saturday works for you, bring them down and pay nothing extra.

Where your money goes

Both routes send money to a partner masjid. The amount depends on how you come to us.

So the drop-off costs you the least and gives the masjid the most. We are happy to say that plainly.

What the price covers

You are not paying for shredding alone. The price covers the whole journey of your materials, handled with care at each stage.

• Doorstep collection, islandwide. We come to your home or office anywhere in Singapore, on your area's collection day. Coverage details are on our islandwide collection page.
• Weighing in front of you. We bring a digital platform scale to your doorstep and weigh your materials while you watch. You see the number for yourself. The final price is confirmed there and then, before anything leaves your home.
• Transport to our facility. Your materials travel with us to our facility at 66 Tannery Lane, Sindo Building. You do not need to visit. We do not shred at your doorstep.
• DIN 66399 P-5 micro-shredding. This is a high security destruction standard. Particles come out smaller than 30 square millimetres, so no ayat survives in readable form.

Our collection days depend on your area, so this affects when you can book. We collect on weekdays only.

What we accept

The rates on this page cover all of it. Quran and mushaf, kitab, hadith books, madrasah textbooks and workbooks, Yasin books, doa and tahlil booklets, khutbah notes, Islamic worksheets and notes, Islamic calendars with ayat, framed ayat and calligraphy in wooden or metallic frames, Islamic ornaments, plaques and hanging decor, tasbih and keepsakes, wedding and kenduri cards with Bismillah, newspaper clippings with Quranic text, sejadah and telekung printed with verses, banners and posters with ayat, cassettes and VCDs of Quran recitation, and general books, magazines and papers.

One thing we do not handle. We do not accept talismans, wafaq, or items tied to spiritual practices. Please leave those out of your bags.

We would rather you trust this page than feel sold to.

Start with our own drop-off. No booking fee at all, and the masjid receives $2.50 per kg. If you can bring your materials to Masjid Abdul Aleem Siddique on the last Saturday of the month between 2pm and 5pm, that is the cheapest way to use us, and there is no reason to pay a booking fee you do not need to pay.

Beyond us, some mosques run collection drives for old Qurans and religious books. Community programmes appear from time to time as well. These routes are usually free, and they are a genuine blessing for the community. They make good sense when two things are true. First, you have a small quantity, perhaps a few books that fit in one bag. Second, you are not in a hurry, so you can wait for the next drive to be announced and bring the items down yourself. Where a paid collection earns its fee is method, transparency and timing. You know exactly how your materials are destroyed, to a named standard, at a facility you can name. You see the weight and the final price at your own door. And you choose the collection date instead of waiting for an announcement. How do I get the cheapest price?

Bring your materials to Masjid Abdul Aleem Siddique on the last Saturday of the month, between 2pm and 5pm. There is no booking fee at all, so you pay only $5.50 per kg for books and papers. A 10kg load costs $55 instead of $75. If you need us to come to you instead, use a partner masjid code, ALEEM10 or KHALID10, and your booking fee drops from $20 to $10.

The masjid drop-off has no booking fee because you bring the items down yourself.

Do I pay before or after weighing?

After. We weigh your materials on our digital platform scale at your doorstep, in front of you. Your final amount is confirmed before anything leaves your home, so you never pay based on a guess. There is nothing to pay when you book.

Is there a minimum weight?

No minimum. We collect even a single Quran. For very small amounts, our masjid drop-off saves you the booking fee, and a free mosque collection drive may be more economical still if one is running and you are able to wait for it.

How do I estimate the weight of my materials?

A filled shopping bag of books is roughly 5kg. Count your bags for a quick estimate. The exact figure always comes from the digital platform scale, so your estimate does not need to be perfect.

When can you collect from my home?

We collect on weekdays only. North and West on Mondays and Fridays. East and Central on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Choose a morning slot, 9am to 12pm, or an afternoon slot, 12pm to 4pm.

Does any of what I pay go back to the community?

Yes. Every doorstep booking sends $10 plus $1 per kg to your chosen masjid, so a 20kg collection sends $30. Every masjid drop-off sends $2.50 per kg, so a 20kg drop-off sends $50.
